1st XI opening batter Jonathan Ring has been named Maghull Player of the Month for May. Maghull Director of Cricket Paul McKenna named Jon the winner after his batting deeds throughout May.
In five games in the month, “Ringo” notched 276 runs at an average of 46.5. His haul included two half-centuries. He hit 90 in the win over Hightown St Mary’s in the league. This knock followed a belligerent 52-ball 85 against Wavertree in the ECB Vitality Club T20 L&DCC Round 1.
Ringo leads all batters at the club in 2026, with 376 runs in total. He is averaging 53.57 and is well on course to exceed his run tally from 2025.
Ringo joins Liam Gibbons as a recipient of the Player of the Month award in 2026.
