Centenary Events and Matches
2026 is a memorable year for everyone at Maghull Cricket as it is our centenary year and to celebrate 100 years of MCC we are hosting a number of events to mark this special year so please come down and enjoy the events as everyone is invited whether you are a member or not.
Your events
April
In April we officially we kick off the centenary year on Saturday the 25/04/26 with the 1st teams first league game of season against Ainsdale cc following this will be the “Official Opening of the Centenary Season Party” with live music provided by Phil Mc and food available from Rolandos Pizzas.
May
Following on from the events of May we have two centenary events the first being on Monday the 04/05/25 when we attempt to recreate the first ever game that Maghull CC played which was against Ormskirk CC in May 1926.The game starts at and one of our partners Neptune Brewery will be setting up a special craft beers tent, there will be food on sale from And on Saturday 16/05/26 there will be a centenary fundraising event when we host a race night with the fun starting at 8:00 pm, free entry.
June
On the 03/06/26 we will welcome esteemed guests in the form of The Marybone Cricket Club who will take on a Club 11 in a 40 over game. We are extremely lucky and privileged to welcome MCC so please come down and support the day which will start at 2:00 pm, free entry.
July
For over the last 15 years we have arranged a charity day in aid of Zoe’s Place and on the 05/07/26 we host this year’s charity day in aid of Zoes’s Place and with it being our centenary year it will have a special centenary influence. The event will start around 2:00 pm and will go on late into the evening with live music, DJ, food stalls, children’s entertainment, auctions and much more, free entry so please come down and support a brilliant charity who do amazing work with children every single day. August
Are you a former member or player of the club then this could be the event for you for on the 01/08/26 we will host a former players and members re union day, the 1st team are at home that day to Colwyn Bay CC and the BBQ will be out and about that day so if you used to play for the club or where a member then get down to the club on the 1st and reminisce.
September
On Saturday the 19/09/26 we host the end of centenary season party which mark the end of the centenary season, there will be live music and food available so please come down and celebrate the end of our 100th season.
October
On Saturday the 03/10/26 we have a centenary fundraising quiz night with questions (as you will probably guess) will be from the last 100 years across all subject areas so come down and test your knowledge from the last 100 years, you may surprise yourself!
November
November brings the crowning event of our centenary year with our Centenary Dinner on Saturday the 14/11/26 in the Papillon Suite at Aintree Racecourse. The event will start at 6:30 pm with celebration drinks on arrival followed by a three-course meal with the evening ending with live music from The Dawn. The night promises to be special so don’t miss out, tickets for this once in a lifetime event are available for £75 each.
December
Our Centenary year will conclude with a centenary Christmas Party on Saturday 06/12/26 when we will celebrate the end of our special year. There will be live music, food and a chance to have a few Christmas drinks with friends.
