Charity at MCC
100 not out, our support of local charities
Over the past 100 years we have been proud to be able to give something back to our local community principally in raising money for local charities and needy causes, whether they be local formal charities or individuals who have found themselves in difficult situations.
Proud of our involvement
One of the local charities that we have supported for over 15 years now and in the process raising over £30,000.00 has been Zoe’s Place (now known as “Little Lights”). The fundraising for Zoe’s Place centres around a charity cricket day which usually takes place on the first Sunday in July.
The day first took place in 2007 and was a relatively small in its scope and size however the day has grown over the years and is now an event that is routinely attended by hundreds of people and has become a major event in the local community’s collective diaries.
And over the years all our members have taken an active part in the day whether they be our youngest members or our most senior members, the day is something that we are extremely proud of and are hugely thankful to all the people who have supported the day over the years.
Zoe’s Place themselves have been thankful for the fundraising that we have done over the years and following last years event, Zoe’s place said:
“A huge thank you to Gareth, everyone at Maghull Cricket Club, and all those who gave their time, services, or came along on the day to support this years Cricket Day. We’re truly grateful for the club’s long standing support”.
This year’s day is due to take place on Sunday 05/07/26 so please come down and support the day.
