1st XI Cup Dreams are Dashed in Semi Final Defeat

Maghull captain Anthony Molloy won the toss and elected to bowl first. He saw his side reduce the visitors to 82-4, but solid contributions from the Park middle order allowed them to reach 259-9 after 45 overs. Craig Black took 3-33, while there were two wickets each for Dan Feeney, Greg Coogan and Joe Campbell.

The 1st XI’s last hopes for silverware for the 2025 season disappeared on Sunday, as they went down to a semi final loss in the Ray Tyler Cup at home to Sefton Park.

John Ring and Nick Ritchie posted 31 for the first wicket, but Maghull were unable to establish any partnerships of sufficient substance and fell to 92 all out, 167 runs short of their required total. Cam Lawrenson top scored with 20 off 22 balls.
