Joseph Byrne has been named Club Player of the Week. In just his second senior game, the youngster took 3-36 in a nine-over spell for the 4th XI against Ormskirk.
The three scalps are the first for Joseph in senior cricket.
Maghull Director of Cricket, Paul McKenna, decides on the weekly award winner. He named Joseph the winner after his deeds on Sunday. “Joseph’s wickets helped turn the game from one that Ormskirk were running away with, into a much closer contest.”
4th XI Captain Neil Dutton said, “I’m really pleased for Joseph. He bowled really well and deserved his wickets. I was really impressed with his attitude and how he bounced back after a bad ball. Joseph has settled into the 4th XI quickly, and I’m certain he will add plenty more wickets to his tally.”
