The 3rd XI opening batter earned his first POTW award for his innings against Liverpool CC 4th XI.
Phil Ivens has been named Club Player of the Week. Phil played an instrumental role in the 3rd XI earning their first win of the season on Saturday. He top-scored as Maghull completed a four-wicket victory over Liverpool 4th XI.
Opening the batting, Phil hit 63 from just 67 deliveries, with 11 fours and a six. He added 107 for the first wicket with Niall Noble. This set a foundation for the 3rd XI to chase a victory total of 158.
Maghull Director of Cricket, Paul McKenna, decides on the weekly award winner. He named Phil the winner after his deeds on Saturday.
3rd XI captain Gareth Lloyd said, “To chase that total in 36 overs was a testament to Phil (and Niall) setting it up at the top of the order.”
