The slow left-armer spun the 1st XI to victory on Saturday.
Greg Coogan has been named Club Player of the Week. The slow left-armer bowled the 1st XI to victory on Saturday.
After hitting the winning runs twice in the last three games, Coogan did the damage with the ball against Northop Hall. Bowling unchanged throughout the innings, Coogan’s 16.3 overs brought six maidens, 34 runs and seven Northop wickets, as Maghull successfully defended 142 runs.
Coogan has taken five or more wickets in an innings 12 times for Maghull. Saturday marked the fourth time he has claimed seven victims in a match.
Maghull Director of Cricket, Paul McKenna, decides on the weekly award winner. He named Greg the winner after his bowling deeds.
Cam Lawrenson, who captained the 1st XI on Saturday, said, “Greg bowled with great control. He kept things tight throughout his spell and gave the batters no freebies to hit.”
Well bowled, Greg!
