Owen Quilliam Named Player of the Week

The youngster was in fine form last week

Owen Quilliam has been named Club Player of the Week. The young left-hander was in fine form, with two fine batting knocks and two wickets for 24 runs in two matches last week.

On Tuesday, Owen made 30* from 32 balls batting at four for the U13s against Widnes. He later took 1-12 in his two overs. Not satisfied with this, on Wednesday night, he opened the batting for the U15s against Ainsdale. He scored 50* from 52 balls, his first half-century for Maghull. Owen then followed this up by taking another 1-12. Owen more than played his part in two victories for Maghull’s junior sides.

Maghull Director of Cricket, Paul McKenna, decides on the weekly award winner. He named Owen the winner after his deeds this past week.

U15s coach Neil Dutton said, “It was a great week for Owen, with bat and ball. He continues to develop as an all-round cricketer, and I am sure there are plenty more runs and wickets to follow this season!”

Well played, young man!
