The speedster helped bowl the 1st XI to victory on Saturday.
Zack Benton has been named Club Player of the Week. The Kiwi opening bowler claimed a season-best haul in the 1st XI’s win over Sutton.
Opening the bowling in defense of Maghull’s 167, Zack dismissed every member of the Sutton top three for ducks, before going on to claim five of the first six wickets to fall. This left the visitors in tatters at 55-6, before they were eventually bowled out for 127.
This was Zack’s first five-wicket haul for Maghull, and takes him to 36 wickets for the season.
Maghull Director of Cricket, Paul McKenna, decides on the weekly award winner. He named Zack the winner after his bowling deeds.
Neil Dutton, club secretary, said, “It was fantastic to see Zack get his five-for on Saturday. He has been truly everything we could have asked for this season, and it’s great to see him producing so consistently with the ball.”
Well bowled, Zack!
