The 1st XI all-rounder played a crucial role with bat and ball over the last month.
1st XI all-rounder Anthony Molloy has been named Maghull Player of the Month for June. Maghull Director of Cricket Paul McKenna named Anthony the winner after his contributions with bat and ball throughout the month.
In six games this month, Anthony scored 196 runs at an average of 49. In his last three league outings, he amassed scores of 49, 64* and 55*. The first and last of these knocks helped the 1st XI to vital wins over Highfield and Southport & Birkdale. He earned Player of the Week honours for his batting against S&B. His 64* also gave his side a score to defend against Colwyn Bay, which they came within three wickets of doing.
All-rounders have twice as much fun as “ordinary” cricketers, and Anthony also chipped in with seven wickets over the month. These included three-wicket hauls in back-to-back days. He claimed three wickets in the win over Highfield. Then came another three the next day in a loss to Hightown in the Ray Tyler Cup.
Anthony has scored 227 runs so far this season while taking 14 wickets in total. He is on course to top his 2025 run tally of 285 and his haul of 22 wickets. Anthony is our third Player of the Month this season, following Liam Gibbons (April) and Jon Ring (May).
